Azul Conecta will receive 10 more aircraft

Azul Conecta, the regional subsidiary of Azul Brazilian Airlines, has been successful since its inception in 2020. As a result, the regional company is about to increase its fleet, with the acquisition of more Cessna Caravan aircraft.

Originating from Azul's purchase of the TwoFlex regional office in 2020, Azul Conecta is a key player in the capillarity system that Azul has designed and operated since its inception, back in 2008. This is because, with the new division, Azul is able to expand its operations to smaller airports further away from the capitals and metropolitan regions, being an excellent and more viable option for those passengers who live in the interior of a state and wish to travel to the main airport in their state or to the airport in the capital.

Because of this success, in addition to the planes it already operates, Azul Conecta has ordered 12 Cessna Gran Caravan EX planes from the US manufacturer Textron Aviation. Of these, two have already been delivered this Tuesday (28), at Jundiaí Airport, in the metropolitan region of São Paulo. The other ten planes will be delivered to the company in the coming months.

“The Grand Caravan EX is able to reach remote areas that other aircraft cannot, connecting large numbers of people across all regions and supporting the country's economic growth and development,” said the Vice President of Sales for Latin America from Textron Aviation, Marcelo Moreira, to Aeromagazine.

"From August 2020 until now, we have transported more than 40 thousand passengers, opened 12 new destinations and completed more than 15 thousand flight hours. (...) The announced purchase of new planes coming from the factory is a demonstration that we are expanding our operations in the country”, said the CEO of Azul Conecta, Flávio Costa, in an interview with the portal.

Azul Conecta's new aircraft don’t have a date for starting commercial operations, much less defined routes.
