Recently, Via Trólebus published that Alstom's factory in Taubaté, Vale do Paraíba – SP, will be expanded. This is because, in addition to the orders that are already being assembled there, the company will need to support the production of trains of the subway line 6 – Orange and CPTM (Companhia Paulista de Trens Metropolitanos - São Paulo Metropolitan Train Company) lines 8 and 9, which will be operated by the private sector.
Following what is stated in the concession contracts for the lines, Alstom will supply a total of 58 trains to the state of São Paulo. Of these, 22 are for line 6, which will be operated, through the subsidiary LinhaUni, by the spanish company Acciona, the same that is actually building the line. The other 36 trains are for the CPTM lines 8 and 9, which will be operated by the ViaMobilidade Consortium, formed by the CCR and RuasInvest Groups.
The Taubaté unit is also engaged in the construction of trains for Line 7 of the Taipei Metro System, in Taiwan, for the Bucharest network, in Romania, and for the Santiago’s Metro System, in the capital of Chile.
