Approved the term for the project to extend the subway line 5-Lilac to Jardim Ângela

According to the Via Trólebus website, the STM (Secretary of Metropolitan Transport of the State of São Paulo) informed, through a statement, that it approved the term of reference for the contracting of the functional project for the expansion of the 5-Lilac line to the Jardim Ângela neighborhood, in the South Zone of the city of São Paulo. The expansion, according to the folder, includes the construction of another 4.33 km of tracks, two new stations and a bus terminal. It is estimated that this extension, when completed, will benefit approximately 130 thousand residents.

“We analyzed and approved the functional project that, at this first moment, met our expectations and schedule. With this, we are continuing this project that will help in the mobility of so many people and that is so expected by the region”, said the Secretary of Metropolitan Transport of the State of São Paulo, Alexandre Baldy, to Via Trólebus.

The study was commissioned from Via Mobilidade, a concessionaire linked to the CCR Group that has managed the 5-Lilac line since 2018, and specifies and details the requirements (cost, labor and the like) that must be included in the project. In addition, this study guides companies that are interested in taking on the functional project of civil works and systems.

Also according to what was published on the Via Trólebus website, the deadline for completing this first stage of the project is 2 years. In the coming months, other topics will be developed and approved, such as the study of passenger demand and environmental consultancy.

Optimistic deadline for the fact start of the works:

Last year, the State Government enthusiastically announced the extension of line 5, but, in fact, it was the contracting of projects, which have a period of 2 years. Recently, the head of STM announced, in his social networks, which intends to actually start the works in 2022.
